Privacy Policy

KahanDekhu ("we", "us", "the app") helps you find where to legally watch movies and shows in India. We've built it to need as little of your data as possible. This policy explains what we do and don't collect.

Information we store

By default — when you are not signed in — the app stores a small amount of information locally on your device (in your browser's storage), never on our servers:

• Your selected region (e.g. India)
• The streaming services you tell us you subscribe to
• Your watchlist of saved titles

This stays on your device. Clearing your browser data or uninstalling the app removes it, and we have no way to access it.

If you create an account (optional)

Accounts are optional and exist only to sync your data across your devices. The app is fully usable without one. If you choose to sign up:

• We store your email address, used solely to sign you in and secure your account. Your password is handled by our authentication provider (Supabase) and is stored in encrypted/hashed form — we never see it.
• We store the same preferences and watchlist described above on our servers, linked to your account, so they appear on every device you sign in to.
• Each account can only ever access its own data, enforced by row-level security.

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time — see "Your choices" below.

Information we do not collect

• No name or phone number
• No password visible to us (sign-in is handled by our authentication provider)
• No location tracking (your "region" is a manual setting, not your GPS)
• No selling or sharing of personal data with advertisers

How searches work

When you search or open a title, the app sends that request to our own server (a Cloudflare Worker), which fetches movie and availability data from third-party providers. These requests contain only the search text or title identifier — not anything that identifies you personally.

Third-party services

• TMDB (The Movie Database) — supplies movie/show metadata, posters, and artwork.
• JustWatch — supplies the "where to watch" availability data shown in the app.
• Cloudflare — hosts the app and our data proxy.
• Supabase — provides authentication and database storage if you choose to create an account (email sign-in and cross-device sync). Used only for signed-in users.
• Payment providers (UPI apps / Razorpay) — if you choose to make a voluntary donation, the payment is handled entirely by your UPI app or the payment provider. We never see or store your card, bank, or UPI credentials.

These services have their own privacy policies, which govern data they process.

Donations

Donations are entirely voluntary and give you no additional features — the app is free either way. We do not store any payment information.

Children

KahanDekhu is a general-audience app and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Analytics

We may use privacy-friendly, aggregate analytics to understand overall usage (for example, how many people use the app), without tracking individuals or building profiles. If this changes materially, we will update this policy.

Your choices

You are in control of your data:

• Local data: clear it any time through your browser or device settings, or by uninstalling the app.
• Account data: if you created an account, you can delete it — and all preferences and watchlist data linked to it — by contacting us at the email below. Deletion is permanent.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new effective date.
